We're thrilled to announce the appointment of Janet Kurtz to the position of editor-in-chief of Nfocus Magazine. Janet brings extensive experience in communications, having represented some of Nashville’s top hospitality brands. After 24 years in the market, she has developed a deep connection to the city of Nashville and its people. She will oversee the day-to-day editorial direction of both the print and digital platforms at the core of Nfocus and lead the team to execute the vision of the brand.
“Nfocus is a special publication in this market, which requires an exceptional person to lead its editorial vision. That person must be of the community, dedicated to the philanthropic and generous nature of our city, with a keen, discerning and tasteful eye. We are very fortunate to have found that with Janet Kurtz,” said Mike Smith, interim president of FW Publishing.
“I'm thrilled that Janet has agreed to join me in leading Nashville's premier magazine,” says Publisher Jennifer Trsinar Jezewski. “As we look ahead to our 30th anniversary next year, I'm excited to see how Janet will help us further engage with and celebrate our local community and build partnerships to serve the loyal Nfocus readers, many of whom are key leaders in the city.”
In her new role, Janet will help build the vision and strategy to take Nfocus into a new era, increasing its digital presence while staying focused on production of the print publication. She will lead the team of editors, writers, photographers and designers to curate all of our content.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the legacy of Nashville’s luxury magazine. Having lived in Nashville for 2 1/2 decades, I know how important it is to tell the story of the city in an authentic way and how beloved this publication is to the community. I hope to continue to strengthen the Nfocus brand while growing the audience of this rich publication,” says Janet.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Janet found a love of writing at an early age. After graduating with a degree in English Literature from the University of Evansville, she moved to Nashville to begin her career. Working with top luxury properties, like Loews Vanderbilt Hotel and The Hermitage Hotel, she elevated the brands to the top of the market through effective communications and revenue generation. In 2016, Janet founded Kurtz Hospitality Marketing, a communications and public relations consulting firm for the hospitality industry.
We look forward to this exciting new era at Nfocus Magazine!
