The CocoLillys clothing line, ranging from bridal to beachwear, has always been full of conversation starters. For one thing, the tiger-toned dresses in the Gameday line are enough to make you shout “War Eagle!” across a festive tailgate. But CocoLillys' founding family — Nashville-based sisters AnnaLee Mathews and Chandler Story and their mother, Tracie Story — believes their garments have the power to change lives by sparking conversations about keeping women safe.

On a 2024 mission trip to Honduras, the Story family met Lee Ann Walters, case manager at Nashville Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition (NAHT) and survivor of human trafficking. When Lee Ann introduced the Storys to NAHT’s mission of rescuing and restoring women and children, the entrepreneurs knew their youthful, whimsical and female-founded fashion could help protect the next generation of women.

In July, the six-year-old fashion line and the nonprofit created CocoLillys x NAHT Striped Set Collection, a co-branded collaboration of bestselling shirts, shorts and pants, to introduce the difficult but important conversation about recognizing risks associated with human trafficking. Designed for women and girls of all ages, the easygoing lounge sets coordinate with NAHT's signature light blue and yellow.

Sewn into every garment, a Smart Girl Safety Tips tag offers reminders to identify and avoid risks:

  • Never share private pictures, personal information or secrets with people online.

  • Avoid meeting internet strangers in person.

  • Tell a trusted person if something seems wrong.

Twenty-five percent of sales of CocoLillys x NAHT will benefit the nonprofit’s programs to prevent human trafficking and substance abuse.

Lilly isn’t the only flower on NAHT’s landscape of social enterprise. The nonprofit also generates revenue and awareness through Sweet Daisy petit four bakery. The commercial kitchen in NAHT’s Berry Hill headquarters offers survivors of human trafficking and drug abuse an opportunity to build careers, community and confidence through the production of small, beautiful cakes, which also pair well with open, honest conversations.
