On the Circuit: Rocketown Patrons Party

Since 1994, Rocketown has offered a safe place for teens to connect, develop and thrive. And on a warm summer night, supporters of the organization gathered in Cordia and Tom Harrington’s elegant Franklin home to hear how this mission is expanding.

Founded by Christian singer Michael W. Smith, Rocketown offers after-school programming and quality recreational facilities, like a skate park and a coffee shop. While it’s a place parents feel comfortable sending their children, teenagers naturally return on their own for its lively environment and innovative programming.

Cordia and Tom’s abundant gathering spaces set the scene for this year's patrons party, where guests mingled over charcuterie and soft piano arrangements while taking in views of the surrounding rolling hills. Smith captured everyone’s attention for remarks, highlighting the history of Rocketown and how its reach continues to expand.

Such growth includes bringing Rocketown’s third location to downtown Greenville, Ky., a mile from the only high school in Muhlenberg County. Leadership hopes this new location will reach even more youth, similar to Rocketown in Cheatham County, which attracted roughly 100 students for this year’s back-to-school bash.

While Nashville still serves at Rocketown’s hub, donations will reach all three locations and give patrons the chance to pour into each building’s mission — connecting with teenagers and providing a family-like community.
