Last week, we introduced you to A Stop in Birmingham, but as we worked on uploading the article, we found that there were still a few more places to show some love. Because of this, find Part II below.
The next time you take your annual pilgrimage south on I-65 to escape the chilly hands of winter, we suggest taking a day to rest in one of Birmingham’s most charming hamlets, Mountain Brook. Comprised of three villages (Mountain Brook, Crestline and English Villages) this area is walkable, hospitable and charming.

Mountain Brook is an incredibly walkable community, with an extensive network of sidewalks connecting all three villages. Each village has their own vibe so be sure to make time for each.

Snoozy’s: This is THE spot for great gifts for kids (and the moms who often do the buying). George Jones and his daughter Lillian stock the latest and greatest in covetable kids toys and play things while also offering Julie Vos jewelry, great coffee table books and stylish beach and pool accessories.

Where to Dine
Each of the three Mountain Brook villages hosts a bevy of great restaurants and fun spots for grabbing a drink and a nibble. These are some of our favorites:
Mountain Brook Village’s brick & tin: A casual lunch and dinner option where everything is seasonal and made in house. The Bluebird salad is a classic and a perennial favorite while the mushroom soup and paninis delight.
Crestline Village’s Dyron’s Low Country: Looking around the dining room, your first thought might be, “does everyone here already know everybody?” Yep, they do because it is that kind of conviviality, coupled with well-done approachable fine dining that keeps them coming back.
English Village’s VINO: This sleek white space feels nothing like the former gas station it used to be in a prior life. One part art studio space, one part bar that feels like your living room with a bartender, one part restaurant, you’ll end the evening longing to have a VINO of your own back in Nashville.
