Local Beauty: Little Seed Farm

At Little Seed Farm, it all starts with little seeds — seeds that grow into foliage for a herd of completely grass-fed goats. Milk from the goats is then combined with botanicals to create nourishing soaps, balms, mists, moisturizers, serums and oils that are completely chemical free.

Co-founders Eileen and James Ray are dedicated to sustainability, whether it be through rotational grazing on their 84-acre property, composting and recycling, or providing all of the electricity needed to operate the farm with solar panels. The couple's mission is to encourage other companies to embrace land stewardship and sustainability and join them in creating products that are humanely and responsibly produced.

Perhaps their most well-known items are their soaps, available as both bars and liquid, which don the faces of their adorable goats along with their names — such as Tyeras, Zephyr, Calima and Chinook. The options include intoxicating scents like geranium rose, orange vetiver, lavender, rosemary mint and many more. But it doesn't stop there. They also offer natural deodorants — yes, that actually work! — and botanical body butter with ultra-rich shea butter to soothe dry skin. Their roster of skin care products includes a facial mist, with ingredients like German chamomile and marshmallow to soothe and balance, correct pH and refine skin, and a moisturizer made with goat's milk, argan oil and perilla seed to resurface skin, promote cell turnover and reduce redness. Body oil, elasticity serum, body scrubs and more round out their offerings, which are available at more than 50 locations across Nashville.

Only the highest quality natural and organic ingredients are used in Little Seed Farm products, making each product just as good for your body as for the environment. littleseedfarm.com
