When you see a coiffure laced with silken strands of glistening bling, you might be looking at the festive handiwork of Finklepott’s Fairy Hair. And if you happen to see those dazzling locks in the Nashville area, they might be the shiny stylings of “Fairy Carson.”

When Syntheia Finklepott launched her eponymous beauty enterprise in Raleigh, N.C., in 2010, her brother Carson Parks, a.k.a. Fairy Carson, learned to apply the silky strands, on the off-chance that he might help expand the family business. Fast-forward a few years and Carson is a full-fledged Finklepott Fairy, adding a magical touch to hairstyles on the young and young at heart in his hometown Nashville.

A styling session with Fairy Carson might include affixing anywhere from 10 to 150 colorful decorative strands of Finklepott’s Original Fairy Hair® to individual hairs. Prices range from $30 for 10 strands to $375 for 150 strands. Carson can schedule Sip & Sparkle parties at private homes, or he can schedule appointments at his home studio in Oak Hill.

Every third Wednesday of the month, Fairy Carson sets up shop at Cute & Comfy Shoes and Apparel in Graces Plaza in Green Hills. His next day in the store is Wednesday, Dec. 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You may have bumped into Fairy Carson at Tennessee Renaissance Festival, Nashville Pride or Franklin Pride, among many events. In November, Fairy Hair joined Merry Little Market at The Factory at Franklin. February will mark the fifth year Fairy Hair has participated in the Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon to support Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital.

You’ll know Fairy Carson when you see him, because he’ll be wearing wings.

“If you get Fairy Hair from someone without wings, it’s not Finklepott’s Original Fairy Hair®,” Fairy Carson says. “I love what I do, because all day I make people happy. It’s the best job.”
