On the Circuit: 2023 Rally in the Round

There are plenty of reasons why the meme “cancer sucks” rings true for so many who have been touched by the dreaded disease. For parents of a child with cancer, there are no words to match such devastation. As 47 kids are diagnosed with cancer every day, it’s actually the number one diagnosis taking the lives of American children.

With the hopes of eradicating cancer in kids and young adults, the Rally Foundation has awarded nearly thirty million dollars in research grants to date. Additionally, the organization helps families overcome financial struggles that often arise.

The Atlanta-based national non-profit held its 6th annual Rally in the Round on October 18 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville to benefit this most important work. Catered by Actual Food Nashville, the event kicked off with dinner and a silent auction while guests were entertained by a special songwriter’s round featuring Tyler Reeve, Trannie Anderson, Cole Taylor, and Track 45, along with a live auction. What made this event especially personal were the stories of Rally Kids like Brett, Breanna, and Ava Paige. (A Rally Kid is anyone who is currently fighting or has ever fought childhood cancer.)

For those not able to attend Rally in the Round, Rally Kid stories and a multitude of helpful information can be found at rallyfoundation.org. The website offers helpful insight for anyone interested in becoming involved like downloading awareness tools featuring the hashtag #GoldStrong. At its core, the mission of #GoldStrong is to collaborate with individuals, families, foundations and organizations using social media to raise awareness around the world. You can also join in Rally fundraising efforts through programs such as #RallyFit 47 Challenge and 4 Quarters 4 Research.
