Music on the Farm Supports Land Conservation

The fourth Music on the Farm for The Land Trust for Tennessee offered a picturesque evening of music, fundraising and community. Aptly located at Glen Leven Farm — a natural oasis just minutes from downtown — the night raised a toast to the beauty of greenspaces and the importance of conserving them. 

The Land Trust for Tennessee protects 137,000 acres of land across 76 counties from new development, maintaining the distinct character of each property. Music on the Farm, the organization’s key spring fundraiser, helps ensure these treasured spaces remain protected. 

Perfect weather and a cool breeze complemented the farm’s picturesque scenery. Guests visited with one another while enjoying a South Coast Seafood crawfish boil and browsing silent auction items, including two Gibson guitars. 

Board chair Louise Beasley welcomed the crowd, emphasizing the organization’s mission. “We’re not government-funded, so we rely on our friends and fellow Tennesseans,” she said. “People who care about Tennessee’s farms, forests, open spaces and public parks — places that feel like home.” 

Then came the highlight of the night — the live entertainment. Country singer Trey Pendley opened, making the crowd laugh with witty remarks in between songs. Then, headliner and six-time Grammy winner Sarah Jarosz took the stage alongside her husband, musician Jeff Picker. Sarah entranced the audience with her clear, pure voice and masterful guitar picking underneath the stars.
