Amanda Marsh and Mark Fuqua met in 2014 on a blind date arranged by a friend who works with Amanda at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. "After a number of days at the pool and walks on the Katy Trail, Mark took me out for a three-course french fry dinner for my birthday," said Amanda.
He proposed in July 2017 by surprising Amanda when she came home from a Saturday morning spin class. They married in April 2018 on the roof of the The Bridge Building in Nashville with the Rev. Guy Griffith of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. "After a chilly week," said the bride, "we had the perfect 70-degree day overlooking the Cumberland River."
Amanda wore a blush tulle and lace gown designed by Monique Lhuillier and carried an array of multicolored spring blooms by Forget Me Not Flower Shop and Designs. Mark wore a suit by Tom Ford.
The reception followed on a lower floor of The Bridge Building, where guests dined on a buffet by Infinity Events & Catering followed by wedding cake by Dessert Designs.They danced the night away to the tunes of The Music City Sound.
"Getting our family and friends together made the day so special," said Amanda. "Everyone made new connections and had a fantastic time. Many out-of-town guests were visiting Nashville for the first time and took a long weekend to enjoy the sights and sounds of Music City."
After a wedding trip to Mahekal Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple returned home to Dallas, where Amanda is a buyer of denim collections at Neiman Marcus and Mark is in commercial real estate. She is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and has her MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management.Mark is an alumnus of Montgomery Bell Academy and Vanderbilt University. Their parents are Lana and Jeffrey Marsh of New Hope, Pennsylvania, and Cathey and Wilford Fuqua of Nashville.
