There’s nothing like a cold drink on a hot summer day, but your options aren’t limited to a cocktail or a sweet tea. Mocktails, or zero-proof beverages, are having their moment with dedicated non-alcoholic menus and spirits popping up at restaurants and stores across the country.

If you’re looking for an alcohol-free alternative that offers all of the refreshment without the hangover, try a mocktail from these spots around town.

The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club

A recent winner of Food and Wine magazine’s Best Bars in America ranking, East Nashville’s Fox Bar & Cocktail Club has an impressive book-style menu of drinks, and mocktails are among them. Try the F-150 made with spiced fig gastrique, pomegranate molasses, tarragon and seltzer, or the coffee-esque Batteries Not Included made with Elegy cold brew.

Denim

The Joseph’s rooftop bar, Denim, offers a pair of zero-proof cocktails to sip while you take in stunning city views. Try the fruity Island Spice with Seedlip Spice 94, strawberry-mint cordial, pineapple juice and lime, or opt for a Spa Day made with lemon and a cucumber-basil cordial.

1799 Kitchen + Cocktails

Downtown Franklin’s premier hotel, The Harpeth, offers mocktails at its signature restaurant and lobby bar, 1799 Kitchen & Cocktails. Try the NA Mi Manchi, made with fresh raspberries, pineapple, orgeat and lemon, or a sparkling NA Amalfi Aperitif.

Thistle + Rye

Located on the third floor of the Conrad Nashville, Thistle + Rye is a swanky cocktail club with an impressive menu of avant-garde cocktails. But, the same care and flair that goes into the traditional menu can be found in their spirit-free iterations of favorites like a spritz, boulevardier and negroni.

etch

You’ll find a collection of mocktail options alongside the globally-inspired menu at Downtown Nashville’s etch, an innovative restaurant from chef Deb Paquette. Alcohol-free refreshments include the Cucumber Mint Fizz, Grapefruit Sunspritz and Gingerberry Lemonade.

Heirloom

Downtown Nashville’s Holston House recently introduced a new rooftop hangout, Heirloom, which draws inspiration from the fact that it was once the city’s tallest garden. Floral cocktails and food items prevail, with alcohol-free options including the sweet-yet-spicy pink guava margarita served frozen or on the rocks.

Rivière

The new rooftop bar at the Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, Rivière, offers some of the best city views in town. Toast to summer with refreshing zero-proof options like the lavender- and lemon-based Sweet Summertime, or enjoy the Bon Voyage spritz.

Bourbon Sky at Bourbon Steak

Soaring high above Nashville at the JW Marriott, Bourbon Sky is the rooftop bar adjacent to Bourbon Steak. Don your business best and order from the “Zero Degree” experience, which includes a riff on the classic Mule (made with Luxardo maraschino cherry, lime and ginger), or the rebellious rendition made with a jalapeno syrup.
