When it comes to experiential dining, it is hard to top an evening with Top Chef alum Jamie Lynch of Church & Union and not one but two Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the Ages alums — winner Alex Belew and runner-up Dafne Mejia — put their heads and talents together for a great evening.

Church & Union — the wildly popular, best-kept local secret restaurant located on Fourth Avenue played host to the series of evenings. First up on the menu was Hell’s Kitchen runner-up, Dafne Mejia, who offered an exquisite Uovo raviolo with burrata & golden beets. Paired with the course was the Off Hours Old Fashioned. Predictably sweet and smoky, the cocktail was a solid pairing for the course. Next up was the winner of Hell’s Kitchen season 21, Alex Belew, with an outstanding miso ora king salmon. This incredible dish was perfectly prepared and paired with Peach Please: a cocktail of peach syrup, lemon juice and Off Hours Bourbon.

Following Alex's salmon, Top Chef alum Jamie Lynch prepared a whiskey-brined duck. Finally, Emily Wilson, lead pastry chef at Church & Union, created a beautiful brûléed maple éclair that was paired with a sweet Night Cap consisting of Kahlua, Off Hours bourbon, heavy cream, egg white and nutmeg.

Off Hours Bourbon launched two-and-a-half years ago to reinvent the idea of how to enjoy bourbon. Founder Jake Ireland believes in bourbon as an engagement of the senses, so — with a silkier finish than many — Off Hours Bourbon combines a rich blend of vanilla, nutmeg and toasted pecans.
