It’s a wonder if — back in 1893 — then-18-year-old Julian P. Van Winkle, Sr. ever dreamed of what a legacy he would create while selling for W.L. Weller & Sons. Later, Julian became known as “Pappy” by his family and friends and would eventually create one of the finest bourbons of all time.
Now distilled by the more than 200-year-old Buffalo Trace Distillery, bourbon lovers often consider Pappy Van Winkle to be the "holy grail of bourbons," with only about 84,000 bottles released annually in the United States. Compared to the millions of bottles produced by other distillers, Pappy’s wheated recipes are a special indulgence rooted in time-honored tradition and craftsmanship.
When it comes to finding Pappy in Nashville, you’re in for a treat, as you know that Nashville does pretty much everything with style. Case in point — Dream Nashville has a very special event coming up with bourbon enthusiasts top of mind. The luxury hotel will welcome guests to an exclusive six-course “Bourbon + Dinner” on Wednesday, October 4th at 6 p.m. when Buffalo Trace Bourbons, including Pappy Van Winkle (10- and 15-year) and Weller, will be featured as course pairings. If wine is more to your usual tastes, consider this an opportunity to diverge from your usual culinary adventures — with some of the good stuff as your guide.
While the menu has not yet been announced, Chef Liron Eisenberg of Stateside Kitchen — located within Dream Nashville — and Chef Josue Pena — of The Iberian Pig in Atlanta — will join forces at the Printers Alley property in downtown Nashville for one of those meals you’ll surely talk about for ages. The two chefs will actually partner for an Atlanta Food and Wine Festival kick-off dinner at Pena’s Buckhead restaurant on September 20th. So if you miss the full festival, FOMO not.
The Dream Nashville event has limited seating and is expected to sell out. Reserve your space here!
