Grand Night Supports the Nashville Children’s Theatre with a Trip Around the World
If you’ve never been to a Nashville Children’s Theatre fundraiser before, keep this in mind — they aren’t your typical soirées. Yes, there are cocktails, auction items and evening gowns. But instead of following traditional programming, the annual Grand Night fundraiser is immersive and interactive, fostering wonder in its guests and exploring a new theme each year. For NCT, 2026 is the year of international voyages.
This year’s theme, All the World’s a Stage, presented the opportunity to not only support local art but also learn about other cultures. Guests excitedly filed into NCT, donning their Saturday night best. After enjoying a cocktail reception and silent auction, revelers traveled to a backstage room, which had been transformed into a dining room for the evening. Laughter and conversation filled the air as guests anticipated the coming activities.
Before long, guests received their “boarding passes” — tickets to their VIP excursions. Cultural experiences included a Sips Around the World beverage tasting, a coffee tasting workshop from The Well Coffeehouse, a hands-on bingata textiles class, and a lively salsa lesson that had guests twirling and laughing from start to finish. Offering a little of everything, the evening posed a prime opportunity to try something new and meet like-minded people.
The funds raised at this year’s Grand Night will help NCT continue to lead the charge as the country’s oldest youth-centered professional theater company. Holding fast to the belief that the arts are for everyone, NCT offers scholarships or financial aid to one-third of its youth participants, ensuring that every child has a seat.
While it’s always intriguing to see Grand Night’s theme come to life, perhaps the most exciting thing about the event is how it embodies NCT’s mission — immersing guests in the same sense of magic and wonder that theater fosters in its audience.
