1 Hotel has put together a one-of-a-kind opportunity they call “The Barrel Room Tasting Experience” that offers nine half-ounce pours of ultra-rare bourbons and rye whiskeys whose combined ages are over a century! The property’s Beverage Director Harrison Deakin leads the tasting for 1-4 people in a private room off Harriet’s that offers sweeping views of downtown. In addition to presenting the nonet of whiskeys in luxury Glencairn tasting glasses, Deakin offers the stories behind Buffalo Trace, its parent company Sazerac and the individual offerings as part of the experience. 

Priced at $650, The Barrel Room Tasting Experience is definitely a splurge, but no more so than a day of self-indulgence at a spa. Plus, the unique chance to sample all of these astounding whiskeys at the same time is priced similarly to what you would pay to buy them as individual pours, providing you could find them. Since some of the selections are from single barrels selected especially by 1 Hotel, these whiskeys simply do not exist anywhere else in the world, so it is truly a unique tasting!
