The season of giving is upon us, and in Nashville, giving is ingrained in our culture and something that takes place 365 days a year. This season gives us an opportunity to dig a little deeper and help some of our more vulnerable residents – children. This year, we are sharing a roundup of toy drives taking place in our neighborhoods. Through these community efforts, thousands of children and families are helped with generous donations of funding and gifts.

Love Thy Neighbors

Teaka Jackson, the force of nature behind Love Thy Neighbors, has created an annual toy drive benefiting families and children of the Edgehill housing community. The organization is asking for toys to be delivered to the address below. The toy drive will continue now, through December 16, new and unwrapped toys may be donated for children from newborns to 17 years old. Love Thy Neighbors also has an Amazon Wish List making the donations that much easier.

Jingle Toy Drive - Benefiting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital

Being in the hospital is never fun, but being in the hospital during the holidays can be even harder. At Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, the dedicated team has created a holiday drive to give each child a surprise during the holidays that is specifically selected for them based on their current needs. There are a variety of ways that businesses and individuals may participate: Businesses are encouraged to create funding campaigns and are listed on the website while individuals may donate funds or send a virtual gift. There is also an Amazon Wish List to help. Click Here for more information.

Toys for Tots

In 2021, Toys for Tots Nashville distributed 47,505 toys in the Nashville area. With giving season here again, donors are asked to help as many families as possible. The greatest needs this year are donations of funds and donations of toys. In addition to contributions, there are additional ways to get involved such as volunteering your time or a place to become a toy drop-off site. Click here for more information.

Last Minute Toy Store

The Last Minute Toy Store is a collaboration of the “ministry of Highland Park Church in partnership with Sheriff Daron Hall and The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office along with The United States Marine Reserve Toys for Tots, churches, business, civic groups, and individuals to provide gifts to Nashville’s FAMILIES IN NEED since 1993.” In 2021 the organization assisted 7,500 children in need in the Nashville community.
