Although not a newcomer to The Mall at Green Hills, celebrated luxury jeweler David Yurman recently unveiled a new boutique within the popular retail destination. Its timeless yet contemporary collections for women and men can now be found on the second level (to the right as you enter in at Starbucks) in the space formerly occupied by Restoration Hardware.
What to Expect
The new location is light and bright with loads of texture — white oak, travertine, concrete wall panels — and pops of color, primarily from replicas of paintings by Sybil Yurman. To the right of the entrance, rich hues and a leather floor define the room dedicated to men’s jewelry. Beyond that, a separate area shines with the elegant Wedding Collection. Women’s bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings run the length of the store and circle around the back wall.
What to Know
David Yurman, a sculptor, and his wife, Sybil, a painter and ceramicist, founded the brand in 1980 and are still infusing the same passion into their product and design nearly 40 years later. In the loggia, a heritage wall tells their story and includes the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award that he created for the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards. Several times a year, the Yurmans visit the Nashville store, one of only 49 wholly owned by the retailer.
What to Buy
The store sparkles with diamonds, pearls and precious stones set in 18-karat gold. In addition to signature Cable and Albion pieces, ladies can shop from the color drenched Novella and new Solari collections. Men can make a statement at the next black-tie event wearing the brand’s forged carbon or meteorite studs and cuff links or keep it classic with an exotic stone signet ring. For those who prefer to keep special purchases a secret, the store offers a private viewing room, available by appointment.
