The Nashville Children’s Theatre Hosts A Grand Night, Fit For a Queen

Lords and ladies made their way in royal style to the Nashville Children’s Theatre’s A Grand Night — The Queen’s Ball. Guests were greeted by royals outfitted directly from the pages of Bridgerton who posed for photos as revelers arrived. Champagne and cocktails were passed through the room as guests paid homage to the Queen of the evening, and all snacked on regal hors d’oeuvres prepared by The Clean Plate Club. Partygoers also enjoyed perusing the silent auction table, which held many treasures fit for royalty.

After the reception, all were invited to take their seats for dinner. It was clear the supporters of the Nashville Children’s Theatre are a tight-knit group; while the crisp salad and delicious dinner were served, many guests visited friends’ tables or stopped to say hello as they journeyed to their seats. This year, there were a record number of guests, so plenty of hellos and hugs were made throughout the room.

Once entrees were cleared, all were invited onto the theater’s stage for the entertainment and dessert. The entertainment for the evening was Mykal Kilgore, whose album A Man Born Black debuted at #2 on the iTunes R&B charts. He sang, joked with the audience and ended his set with the Grammy-nominated “Let Me Go.” After Mykal’s performance, it was time for an energetic live auction. The royals — actors stationed throughout the room — joined the audience onstage to read touching letters that students who experienced the Children’s Theatre had written about the actors. The letters perfectly illuminated the impact that the arts have on students and why the funds raised this evening were so important: to keep the Nashville Children’s Theatre thriving for years to come.
