On the Circuit: Giving Kitchen Tennessee Tastings

For its inaugural event, the Giving Kitchen Tennessee Tastings was a hit. Top chefs from around the city came together with samplings of their best bites for guests to enjoy. Guests were able to visit with the exalted culinarians about the dishes they prepared for the event as well as learn more about their restaurants. Supporters of Giving Kitchen mixed and mingled as they noshed on delicious tastings.

The evening was created to support the important work of Giving Kitchen whose mission is to “provide emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources.” Since opening a Nashville chapter of the organization, Giving Kitchen has helped countless hospitality workers experiencing personal hardship and tragedies. The non-profit was started by Jen Hidinger-Kendrick after her husband lost his battle with cancer. You can read more about Giving Kitchen in our Q & A with Jen here.

While all dishes were expertly prepared, one special bite of the night was from James Beard-nominated chef Julio Hernandez. For the first time Julio was offering up flour tortillas in a fantastic Double Decker Cheeseburger taco. Seconds at events like this are always encouraged and were certainly enjoyed this evening.
