With the celebration of Valentine's Day, love is in the air. While some believe this holiday is simply a sham conjured up by the geniuses at Hallmark (a very lucrative one, at that), Valentine's Day is undoubtedly a time to show your appreciation of your significant other. The dashing gentlemen at the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women event definitely proved their dedication to their leading ladies.
Held at the lovely Belle Meade Country Club, men from across the greater-Nashville area gathered together to not only raise awareness of heart health, but to honor their loves by making donations to the American Heart Association. The event took place just before Valentine's Day, allowing the donation to double as a romantic gift; however, guys, that doesn't mean you can forget the roses on the 14th. After a donation was made, each man wrote a personalized note in a card that read, "Today, tomorrow and always, remember to take care of your heart. Happy Valentine's Day." The genuine message of staying healthy and happy is more romantic than any box of chocolates.
Special guest Lorrie Morgan kept the boys satisfied with her sultry voice performing some of her greatest hits, including "Something in Red." Quite fitting, eh? Lorrie has personal ties to the significance of heart health, as her father, country music great George Morgan, passed away at age 51 from a heart attack. Lorrie was only 16. She made the evening even more special, as the intimate setting let everyone get up close and personal with the star. Lorrie's powerful feminine presence reminded each man of the importance of women in this world. Here's to heart-healthy lovers everywhere! MM
