Little Night of Music has yet another successful year

Let the light shine

Some things just don’t get old. And seeing the light pour in the architectural eye candy that is the Country Music Hall of Fame is definitely one of those things. This was the setting for the PENCIL Foundation’s recent shindig, A Little Night of Music. Brilliant late evening light lit up the front hall of the Museum, as guests enjoyed cocktails and browsed auction items.

The PENCIL Foundation helps to link volunteers with Metro Nashville public schools. Founded more than a quarter century ago, PENCIL Foundation has been promoting community involvement in public education, whether it is a single volunteer or a local business. With eight different programs in place, this nonprofit is vital in meeting the needs of local metro students.

Lots of hubbub surrounded the evening’s performances by Faith Hill and special guests Love and Theft. As partygoers sipped on festive bellinis, the excitement was palpable, not only for the music, but also for the silent auction. PENCIL employee Amy Jackson helped folks with bidding on the goodies, but she had her eye on one particular item: the Justin Bieber concert at Bridgestone Arena in August. She sure was fired up about seeing the tween pop prince. Other desirable items included a trip to Ireland and a meet and greet with country superstar Carrie Underwood.

The Country Music Hall of Fame’s restaurant and catering service, Two Twenty- Two, provided delectable grub for the event. With mouth-watering meat carving stations and lighter fare like caprese salad and marinated hearts of palm over a bed of arugula and shaved Romano, there was a little something for everyone. Delicious food, incomparable entertainment, and great company—set in the quintessential Nashville venue of the Museum and you’ve got a party. And a darn good one at that. MM
