Curiouser and curiouser
Adelicia set to break ground this month
Published On: April 13, 2009
They gathered for a series of kick-off parties for the Adelicia, a new mixed-use living space in the student-saturated Vandy area—within walking distance of two dozen bars and restaurants. Parents and savvy investors are snapping up these babies before ground-breaking, scheduled for this month. But you know all about the urban-revival story.
The SunTrust roundabout office at the end of Music Row had a $50,000 replica of the Adelicia, lit up and populated with tiny people so you could actually point to the penthouse of your dreams. All that was missing were little red stickers indicating sold units. It also had a life size model of a bathroom and kitchen, where Capers Catering on one night and Marsha McKeogh on another cooked up an assortment of hors d’oeuvres—the latter offering smoked salmon mousse on toast, asparagus and shrimp with curry sauce, roasted red pepper bruschetta, paté and cornichons, stuffed dates and blue cheese-poppy seed wafers.
Who was serious and who was just curious? We’ll leave that to Worth, the expert realty team, but our bet is that the just curious morphed into the serious once they got a gander at the 7,000-square-foot amenities deck, the lounge with plasma TV and fireplace and a huge fitness center with six figures invested in Italian workout equipment. Not to mention daily cappuccino, juice bar and newspaper service and a 24/7 doorman.
