National Barbeque Weekend

Posted by Mandi Coleman (07.07.08, 12:41 PM)

I wasn't able to do the typical 4th of July festivities that everyone I know was occupied with this entire weekend. I think what I missed the most was grilling out and gorging myself with hamburgers and hotdogs. Fortunately for me, there are enough leftovers at the office from everyone else's picnics that I shouldn't be complaining!

Most holidays center around food of some sort, but July fourth is all about watching explosions in the sky while stuffing your face with freshly grilled meat products. I think we would all like every weekend to have a picnic involved, so we make this one count by loading down our coolers and grills with as much festivity as possible. Laying by the pool, sipping something cold, and smelling the hamburgers cooking is definately an ideal way to spend any time off of work. I guess since I wasn't able to do it when everyone else did, I'll just make my own holiday and invite people over this coming weekend!

Don't you love weekends when you can eat and drink to your heart's content and everyone else is doing the same?
