Make a Statement

Posted by Mandi Coleman (06.27.08, 12:54 PM)

For the past two weeks, I've been obsessed with jewelry. Not to the point of it interfering with everyday life, even though I probably do spend too much time shopping online at work, but it's just enough of an obsession for it to occupy a good portion of my brain. While I understand that there are much better things that I could allow my brain to focus on...it is what it is.

I haven't wanted dainty items; thin gold chains with little hearts or stones. No, that's much too girly for me right now. I'm in need of golden birds, huge stones, and large medallions attached to chains. Wearing that would only take simple earrings. While in Fire Finch, I picked up the most amazing pair of earrings though; gold, coral, and anything but small. You can see them from a block away. With those I paired a chunky bracelet that seemed to be made sometime in the BC era. Isn't it amazing what they can replicate now? I'm looking forward to wearing all my new finds with a simple, solid dress this weekend.

The Hillsboro Village area is full of quaint little shops that I frequent often. One of my favorites is Pangaea I just love to go in and browse all the lovely bohemian clothes and funky little items they sell in there. And of couse once I have finished shopping a trip to Fido is a must, whether I want a latte or a glass of wine I am never disappointed.

So the Mr. T look is making a comeback, then?

KandiGram, when someone mentions medallions, and you think of Mr. T automatically, doesn't this mean you haven't been keeping up with your Vogue?
