Twin Cities aren't Twice the Fun

I returned from a four day trip to Minneapolis yesterday. The city was gorgeous; classic architecture mixed with modern colors and shapes. Flowers were in bloom and everyone walked, biked, or took one of the many eco-friendly hybrid buses instead of gas-guzzling SUVs. We shopped, we ate, and we saw the Twins overcome the Yankees from a fully stocked mid-field suite.
To make my journey complete, I had to make one final stop. This was my first trip to the city, so of course I had to visit the Mall of America. Of all the stories I've heard, and all the hype that surrounds the massive cluster of retail shops, I have to admit I was really let down! Instead of having new and unusual stores in which to swipe my credit card, they had 3 Victoria's Secrets, two Abercrombies, and also more than one of every other store in our local malls, as well. Living in this area and being able to travel to other cities really makes you realize that we don't have it so bad. After all, I stayed in downtown Minneapolis while I was there and didn't notice any shop that we didn't have!
Recently our town has done a wonderful job adding some unique stores to the area. The Hill Center has been a treat for me; I am there at least twice a week! Even more seasoned stores are updating their lines and the variety of clothing that they carry. I was at 615 on Demonbreun before I flew out last weekend and got really excited about the dresses they had that would actually fit me!
